My dream has always been to become a Registered Nurse. When I was a child I knew that I wanted to be a positive influence for people in need. I want to have the ability to show my family how important it is for helping those less fortunate than ourselves. Being a nurse is doing God’s work. I believe that by showing people kindness that we are able to change the world one person at a time.
As a child, growing up in New York I knew that I wanted to be a positive influence for people in need. The medical field has always been interesting to me. I would see TV shows or movies where you would see nurses and doctors working together to help patients recover. The movie “Patch Adams” played by Robin Williams was one movie that intrigued me about the medical field.
To be able to educate my children that it is important to help those less fortunate than us is one moral value that they will always take with them through life. I have exposed my daughter to persons in need. I have taught her that a lot of people go through life without having a caring person that cares about their well-being. At the same time they are learning to do God’s work. Patients are scared, unable to do for themselves. I want to be a patient advocate through nursing. Nursing is a dream that I am ready to achieve.
