The TV network I always find myself watching is HGTV. I have grown quite addicted to watching home makeovers. The process of turning an ugly, run-down space, into a gorgeous new masterpiece is inspiring. I always joke around saying if I could quit college and flip houses for a living, I would. Although I coyly laugh after admitting that, there’s truth behind it. Everyone should have a beautiful place they can call home. A place they enjoy being and can create memories with their loved ones. I never had that. Ever since I was young, my family moved around at least twice a year. We lived wherever it was convenient.

Last year, I started college. I lived in the dorms and finally had a room to call my own. I decorated and made it the prettiest dorm I could imagine. The joy and happiness I found from turning the empty walls into my “home” was an amazing feeling. But by far the best feeling is watching the reactions of people on TV when they see their newly remodeled home. I would love to see that in real life. To achieve this, I would find a contractor to work with and people who may not be able to afford their dream house. Although in the big picture helping out one family at a time may not seem like a lot, to that family it would be their world.
