Greetings. My name is Anika Ford. Philanthropy would be my dream career because it would bring me the most joy and fulfilment. When I look at powerful rich women like Oprah, I don’t wish for her furs and diamonds. I wish I could build a school to help educate impoverished children. What could be more rewarding than this type of work? To be able to give away money to help provide much needed resources in the community and beyond. I would not only focus my efforts on material objects but I think it is important to stress unity in this country. For so long it has been white against black and poor against rich. But America is most beautiful when it bands together. Historically that’s been the only way to bring about change. Slaves would not be free without the help of whites. Together we tackled segregation, terrorism, and any other issues thrown our way.Remember the feeling in the air after 9/11. We were one nation and it felt good. Maybe I’ll call that campaign “ One Nation, Under God”. My work would change the world because the organizations and people I chose to help will only receive help under one condition, they pay it forward. They must help someone else. To make this dream a reality I would partner with different organizations as well as creating my own nonprofit. I would establish a target group for services, solicit businesses for support by providing training, employment, or resources.
