As a young adult in today’s digital age, I find myself intrigued by the constant innovations going on in the world around me. If I’m not learning about the current technological advances, I am doing what I love most, which is serving my country through the US Army Reserves. The Army has taught me to integrate my everyday life with selfless service and a sense of responsibility to put others before me. By combining my passion for information technology and my duty to protect the citizens of my country, specifically obtaining a degree in Information Technology/Cyber Defense will help me earn a living doing what I love most. This degree will allow me to understand the information systems being used all across the world. I will be able to utilize these skills along with my military background to analyze and interpret incoming threats and hacking techniques. My overall goal is to use my knowledge to create cyber strategies that will protect and prevent the United States from future cyber attacks against other nations. I will be able to change the world through advancing technology while demonstrating my appreciation to my country. This scholarship will serve as a stepping-stone, allowing me to fully experience a multitude of higher education in the IT field.
