There are many things that I would love to do; to be a boxing, master electrician, or cardiologist. Most find it strange that I like these three things in particular. They are completely different, each one from the other, but I do not find it strange. I like training my body and I like to know the function of the body; I feel that these two got hand in hand. As for the electricity, well I grow up around construction all my life and the one construction trade I liked the most was electricity; I found it fun to work on a circuit and to see it work. It made me feel great that I was able complete one especially if it was challenging. But the one I am aiming for is to be a cardiologist, it is more challenging and more exciting, but there is a lot to do. To reach this goal I have made short term and long term goals to help me keep trace of myself. I know that to be a cardiologist there are several requirements; first, to be a cardiologist I must have a bachelor’s degree in order to get into medical school. Then after years of educational preparation there is an exam administered by the American Board of Internal Medicine that I need to pass. In addition, more years of specialized training are reacquired. There are a lot of requirements, so I try to organize my goal to get there. Because there is so much school needed to be a cardiologist I have started to try to prepare myself by studying on my own to obtain some prior knowledge. I go to the library to read book about the body and its functions or I just do research on the internet. I look up how each organ work and what they do and I enjoy learning about it as well so it is easy for me to keep on learning more, which helps me get closer to my goals. These goals I have are all important because they all interconnect and I need to complete one to get to the next so I find it easier to prioritize them because they flow well. But for now I am aiming to get good grades in college. When I become a cardiologist I know that I could definitely help people. I’ll be a doctor after all, so I feel that I could be beneficial to many. Maybe I save someone who may help millions of people in the future, and then I, in a way, would be helping them too. Some make fun of me for my ideas or do not see me as such a person, but I strongly believe that I can change many people’s lives.
