If I could earn a living doing something I enjoyed it would definitely be acting. I started acting when I was 12 when I auditioned for an acting school on a whim. This was a huge thing for me because since I was four I have been struggling with a mild stutter that had hindered me from even attempting my dream of being an actress. I don’t really know what made me want try out on that particular day but it truly changed my life. When I go on stage my disability goes away and I can be who I really am. Since deciding to pursue acting I have taken huge steps to make this my career. I auditioned and got into Duke Ellington High School of Performing Arts Theater Program. Since graduating I decided to attend College in New York and I signed to an Agent and Manager to make my dreams come true. If I was truly able to make a living being an actress I would want to show people no matter what you can do anything that you want to do, if you are willing to work for it and if you are not afraid to show people that hey I am not the societal norm but that what makes me stand out. I wouldn’t want my career to only stand for a persona with a disability. I want to take roles that advance the roles of Women, Women of Color, and we as a people. I want to be an artist more than just an actress and that is what I intend to be.
