I’m one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. We’re pretty well known for speaking with people about the Bible pretty much anywhere people can be found. I would love to spend my time as a special pioneer, out speaking with people full time about the Bible & how God can help us with our problems.
I’ve given considerable thought to learning American Sign Language to help the deaf community. After spending a day out speaking with people, I come home exhausted, yet it’s not the same kind of exhausted I would typically feel after a day of working. One thing Jesus mentioned was ‘there is more happiness in giving than in receiving’. After spending time helping others with their issues & where to look for a solution, I come home much more grounded & happier than working would give me. It also helps me realize that there are many things I experience that others experience as well. In a way, it feels like a huge weight off my shoulders knowing there are others going through the same things I am, which makes it a form of therapy, sort of.
A post on Facebook I really enjoy is “Never once does the Bible say figure it out for yourself. Trust God, He’s already got it figured out.” Many are struggling with addictions, family or marital issues or other battles. With the help from God through the Bible, they’re able to have peace & joy in their lives. Doing this would help so many.
