Doing What I Love
If I could earn a living doing what I love most it would be opening up a treatment center for people struggling with substance abuse and their families. The cost of treatment to the patient would be two fold, there would be a fee but they would also receive treatment and be required to provide community service, either helping a charitable organization or a shelter of some kind once treatment has reached a certain point.
I believe it would not only change the world as a whole but it also changes the world of the addict and their family. Treatment being available like this will help the addicts feel a sense of hope so they can rebuild what is wrong in their lives and feel a great sense of pride and healing. Having them give back to their community allows them to connect to others who may need help and will show others in need that there is a solution if they truly want to change their lives. Having services available to families teaches them that there is someone out there who understands and can offer help or just a shoulder to lean on and someone to listen. Every day we hear stories about the drug problem in America and while one center cannot change the world on its own, it is one piece to the puzzle that can help.
