To lead and mentor others, to guide people in the right direction, to know that you made a difference, these are all skills that make me feel like I make a difference. I feel that there is no better career to do such a thing other than the United States Military. My dream job is to lead and mentor soldiers in the United States Army as a Commissioned Officer. I want to do nothing more than defend the country I live in and fight for the freedom that we have. This could change the world because I get a chance to mentor and develop young soldiers into future leaders, which, after they get out of the military, they go on to lead our nations work force through the skills they learned while they were under my command. Specific goals I am currently setting are to graduate college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and complete the Reserve Officer Training Corps program. I have to excel beyond my peers, as spots for commissioning are very competitive today. I am currently entering my junior year in the program, one of the most crucial years because this is where advanced training begins to prepare us to be Officers in the military. Upon completion of this program my goal will be accomplished and I will commission into the Army as a Second Lieutenant. But my goal will not have truly ended until I see my subordinates develop into successful leaders.
