To Cure Cancer….
My name is Shannon and I am writing this essay to portray my dreams of one day being able to create better treatments or maybe even possibly cure cancer and other devastating diseases. I am currently in the process of earning university transfer credits at Blue Ridge Community College located in Weyers Cave,Virginia to hopefully transfer into the bachelor in Biotechnology Major at James Madison University or the masters in Biomedical Engineering major at the university of Virginia. Pursuing this dream will not be easy.

I have many ideas that I think are plausible and could be enacted upon with the proper support, education and laboratory training. When I transfer into the university that accepts me, I will then begin to gain knowledge of the human body and genetics to possibly figure out exactly what physiologically is happening in a cancer cell that causes the cell not to die. After figuring out what is creating the physiological miscommunications with the cancer cell and body I will attempt to figure out a way to restore communication with the rogue cells so they die. I have many other ideas also, like creating a Nano-immune system that travels through the body to fight viruses and kill mutated cells and possibly even help cells to create more cells for anti-aging purposes. After I earn my degree I will apply to a bio-pharmaceutical company such as Immunex or Cephalon and hopefully get hired. At this point only fate will tell.
