This was my third foiled, “I’m going to bed early,” night in a row. I told myself the last song would be at eleven, but I couldn’t seem to help myself. There are so many unknown country artists and songs that are not getting the credit they are due. It was then that I came to the realization that I loved country music; it’s sound, the messages, and the genre in its entirety, that I decided I wanted to dedicate my life to the country music industry. Music is a world language and an essential part of life, and I would like to cater to that need. Music is ever changing, and I aspire to be in the thick of it by providing eager artists the chance to be heard and by supplying new and fresh tastes to the industry. Interning at one of country music’s top label company, Big Machine Label Group, would be the first step in making this dream possible. Being an International Business and Marketing major at Creighton University, I would hope to be working in their marketing and promoting departments to extend the reach of country music even beyond the United States, while at the same time working with new, up and coming artists. What started with spending hours on YouTube researching unknown musicians, could potentially end in traveling the country, making dreams come true and launching country music to a new level, while I pursue my passions and love of traveling and country music.
