If I could earn a living doing what I love most it would be working alongside children who do not have a place to call home or individuals to call parents. I believe that this would change the world one individual at a time as I challenge them to reach their full potential and make them feel loved and valued.

First, I would pursue an education in either elementary education or social work so that I could work along side students who need the assistance of someone other than their parent or guardian.

Second, I would create a safe place for children to come no matter the circumstance they are in. Together we would find solutions to their problems and I would be there to listen to their triumphs and setbacks. So often, children do not have anyone who cares about them, someone who is interested in the child. I have been burdened for children such as these and I would love to change their future by bringing hope.

Thirdly, building trust is key in order to have a true relationship. The children must know that I care for them and that I will not forget them the next day. I have seen this happen in so many children’s lives and I would like to be a mentor of sorts, giving the children someone who is stable.

Those are three steps that I would take to change the lives of children and fulfill my dream job.
