My dream is to become a teacher. There is a saying out there that children are our future. I do not believe this. I believe that children are our present. Children are always being told that they are going to do great things one day, and as long as they do great in school they will achieve greatness someday. My question is why can’t these kids achieve greatness today? I believe that my goal as an elementary school teacher would be to equip students with the skills and knowledge they would need to achieve greatness today, while they are still young. Children are going to stop trying to achieve great things as kids because they aren’t being told my the most influential adults in their lives that they can do it. They have the idea in their head that they need to wait until they are adults to do something wonderful. My goal in my education is to soak up all the ideas, strategies, and tips of my teachers and other current elementary school teachers in order to pour into the lives of these children and express to them that they are important now!
