Everyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I have a love for music than can never be replaced. Music is a form of communication that most people can relate to. According to published author, Jeff Goins, “Communication changes the world like little else can.” It inspires, breaks down barriers, and teaches the communicator. If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be teaching music.
I am currently pursuing a music education degree at Berklee College of Music. A big financial sacrifice had to be made in order for this to happen. While it can be straining at times, I can honestly say that being that much closer to my dream makes the sacrifice worth it. That being said, my number one goal is to finish all five years at Berklee and obtain my teaching certificate. My next goal would be to obtain employment at an institution where I’d be able to maximize my potential as a music educator.
My primary education teachers were and still are some of the most influential people in my life. They’ve taught me many things about the way the world works. The thought of being able to give that back to someone else is exciting. I always think about how many people I’d be able to reach. I know that it will take more than one person to change the world. However, it only takes one person to start a revolution. Why can’t that person be me?
