If I could do what I love most and in turn it makes changes in the world we live in today, all the better. I would get my degree in Psychology and work with those who really need to see a therapist. Perhaps I would work directly with victims of domestic abuse, both women and men, as well as children – as we are all affected by this disease. Having been a victim myself in the past, I realize that those who are less fortunate in education and finances have a much harder time trying to get out. I was able to get out and survive and move on, make something of myself and provide a safe environment my daughter and myself. Giving people the tools and knowledge to know how to get a job (learning to fill out and application; perhaps teaching them how to read and write), look for an apartment, get public assistance and utilize all programs available to help get back on their feet, instead of staying in the situation they are in out of fear that there is nobody there to help them. Teach them how to manage money (open a checking and savings account; even if they only have $5 a month to save). Knowledge is power. Forever learning. I am back in school to continue my education to succeed further in life. Resiliency and self-sufficiency are good traits.
