Making a living doing what I love the most? On one hand, I would be doing something artsy. I have a small garage-based shop that I do stained glass, fused glass & lampwork glass. It is my happy place. It is my therapy. If I have a bad day, I lose myself in the creativeness and find my Zen. On the other hand, I would be doing work that helps others. Advocacy, counseling, being a shoulder to lean on. I have many times been told I am the mother, the care taker, the one who will smooth things over. This is why I have dreams of working towards a degree in Art Therapy. It is both worlds all rolled up into one!
It may seem small but, to me, this type of work can change the world. Even if you don’t believe it will change the world as a whole, it changes the world for an individual. Glass, crayons, colored pencils, paint, and clay can help express feelings that may be difficult to put into words. Words can be hard to come by, putting pen to paper holds no bounds.
Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~ Picasso
