Figuring out a way to earn a living by doing what you love is the key to success. I have spent quite a bit of time figuring out my career goals and coming up with a plan that will allow me to do what I love for a living. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development and plan to eventually earn a master’s degree that will allow me to work as an advocate for children suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder or Gender Identity Disorder. These are such misunderstood conditions and these children are often not getting the care and attention they need. Throughout my early career I have worked closely with young children and their caregivers in the informal education field, and I have experienced, first hand, the power of working with children, especially those who are under served or in need. I truly feel that I have made a difference every day and want to continue to do so throughout my career. To me, nothing is more important than investing in our children. It is vital for me to feel that my career choice gives something back to my community and somehow makes the world a better place to live. Working with children and helping them cope with difficult situations will allow that and there is nothing more I could hope to do.
