No matter where you go, you will always hear how individuals wish they had taken different directions with their careers. When I was young, I made a vow to myself that this would never be me. It took a while, but I now know how to build my dream career. The career I will be building is web design. Web design consists of designing and developing web sites and mobile applications. Computer careers are growing and I will be able to express my artistic abilities through this.
Building this career has already been an interesting journey. I started my education at a local community to help guide me. Web design interested me when I was younger, but I had thought my aspirations had lied elsewhere. Now I realize this career is my calling.
I want to continue with my education at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. There I will gain the tools and knowledge I need for success. Even though my major will be in web design, the education contains some elements of graphic design. This creates mass flexibility outside of just designing and developing websites. I will be able to create logos, reconfigure restaurant menus, and help promote bands on social media.
David Berman published a book titled Do Good Design. The philosophy of the book is simply that any designer can change the world by being inclusive, not exclusive, and to ensure your communication is accessible to all.
