As most Americans know, we live in a country that is much more fortunate than others yet we still see people take their fortune for granted every day. Whether it be as large as having the privilege of buying new cars and other “toys”, or as small as having shoes on their feet and a roof over their head, we sometimes forget that there are people in this world of all ages that aren’t this lucky and don’t have these items we would consider necessities. This is why if I could have the profession of my dreams, I would be an architect and a contractor. There are so many people, children and elderly, who live both overseas AND right here in our own country who suffer everyday because they don’t have a roof over their heads and the basic human security that we take for granted. I would start a charity that travels to different towns and villages with the help of anyone who has the warm heart to perform these acts of kindness and build houses for people who are not in a place to do so themselves. Lifting the spirits of those who have been down for so long would be worth more to me than any amount of money. Everyone deserves to have a roof over their head, to fall asleep with the comfort of safety and warmth and that is what I want to give to people.
