If I could choose a career path, I would love to become a full time musician. To be a full time musician one must be many things. You must be a performer, being a musician means going out to a venue and trying to make a group of people all enjoy the same kind of music. Sometimes you are the headlining act, while other times it means being the ambiance in a smoky bar full of old jazzers.
You must be a composer, I’ve written and performed a few of my own pieces and the feeling of playing something you put on a page months earlier can be the most satisfying feeling.
If the definition of a professional is one who makes money for a task, then I have achieved the title of professional musician.
However becoming a professional means influencing many. I want to share my talent with as many people as possible. I want to give others the indescribable feeling of performing on stage, or completing a new piece of music, or teaching anyone young or old.
Music is a gift that has been modified, and passed down from teacher to student, I hope to continue this trend.
