My dream is to be a life saver. Literally. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to become a “baby doctor” and save the lives of struggling infants. It breaks my heart knowing that there are infants born prematurely and are fighting to survive, so my dream and goal in life is to become a neonatologist or a neonatal nurse and help those infants win the battle against their life. Becoming a neonatologist/neonatal nurse is not going to save the world; it is not like finding the cure to cancer or creating world peace, but nursing infants back to full health means all the world to me. It may not change the world as a whole, but it would definitely change my world. I imagine myself ten years from now in the hospital sitting with a young couple, terrified new parents and having the wonderful privilege of caring for their premature child in the NICU, and being able to tell them the incredible news that their child will make a remarkable recovery. Being able to do that and see their faces fill with relief and joy is something I look forward to, and I will do everything in my power to make it there, no matter how long it takes me. I love infants, I love caring for them and I cannot wait to be in love with having a career where I save the lives of newborns..
