Cookies, cakes, chocolate; I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have a sweet tooth for all of those and more. The only thing more appealing to me than eating a sweet treat is creating one. My dream is to open a bakery. If I could earn a living by baking every day, it would be a dream come true. Unfortunately, most of America now a days is overweight, has diabetes or, is either gluten intolerant or just chooses to be gluten free. This has factored very much into the vision of what my bakery will look like. There should be a traditional section of regular baked goods, but I also want to have a section that is gluten free, sugar free, low calorie, whole wheat, and more, to appeal to people with these special dietary needs, or anyone who just wants a healthier treat. Many people shy away from these labels because they have been notoriously flavorless, dry or just outright unappetizing. I want to teach as many people as I can that there are plenty of healthier options for them that don’t sacrifice flavor or texture! Even if I only reach a handful of people, they will be able to pass on the knowledge to others and it’s a step in the right direction towards a healthier world!
