I’ve seen this mantra painted on my daughter wall and I thought how true these words were. Which is why I’ve decided after seventeen years to going back to school.
If I could make a living doing what I love and what I love most is culinary art; baking and pastry. Yes, I would love to own my own bakery, café to be more precise where I would conjure up elegant—playful—beautiful cakes, breads and pastries. And going to school would help me to achieve this goal from the apron, the hat, to the box filled with baking tools.
Once I have completed my six months of training, I would then implement phase two of my plan and that’s to teach children the science and artistry of baking and pastry making. Growing up, culinary arts was program that was once offered in schools but not anymore; not enough funding. As a parent we are often consumed with teaching our children healthy eating equals healthy life style, which should include cakes, breads and pastry.
I want to be that person to change the world one child at a time and to make this dream my reality, I am willing to walk that extra mile, because I believe I can be successful.
