If I could earn a living doing what I love most, I would promote health and balance through Ayurveda, a form of alternative medicine. Currently, I am attending nursing school to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing degree. As a student nurse I am not only interested in helping people—I am interested in assisting individuals to empower and educate themselves in order to maximize their quality of life. My lifelong goal is to inspire everyone I meet to find the perfect balance of exercise, family, and work, all while remaining in top physical health. Ayurvedic medicine is one of the worlds oldest holistic healing systems that deal with the equilibrium of certain elements, which prolong health and prevent illness. Through this form of medicine I would be able to offer care for individuals who were suffering injury or illness and provide education on how they could find their way back to good health using Ayurvedic treatments such as massage, diet, breathing techniques, herbal remedies, and relaxation practices. I would also be able to motivate people who were not ill to continue leading healthy lifestyles in order to encourage others to do the same. Instead of worrying about expensive medical bills, people could positively impact their quality of life through the simple yet effective practices of Ayurvedic medicine.
