If I could earn a living doing what I love most, then that would mean I’d be earning a living instilling emotions of hope, love and greatness in others. Art is the ability to translate these feelings to an audience, the bridge between transforming an ordinary experience to a historical, cultural and life altering event. I am speaking on behalf of all art forms, although mine in particular refers to the visual kind. I will be attending The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I plan on graduating with my BFA within the next two years, and during my time there I hope to gain a greater sense of self and purpose. I also plan on opening doors to all the different ways of communicating with others beyond what I am used to. I am not too sure of what will come after, that is not to say I haven’t thought about it, because I most certainly have. I mean, what 21 year old hasn’t gone crazy wondering what will become of them post graduation. But I believe that comes with time and with fully engaging in the moment while attending SAIC, my plan is to give 110% to everything, my schoolwork, professors, relationships both intimate and not. I choose to be open minded to things that I cannot seem to understand and choose to intensely pursue growth, because I know the moment I decide to stop learning I begin to die⎯ as a person.
