As a student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and sociology at New York University, I live to share my curiosity and investigation of the world through words. I have always found writing to be the best way in expressing my ideas and myself. This love has only grown deeper and more passionate, along with a newfound love towards traveling. Having been to Europe, the Philippines, Guatemala, and Ghana, I have earned experiences of understanding different cultures, their people and traditions. To be a journalist, is to live a life of adventure and traveling, while learning and exposing world news, good and bad, and its innovations. It is exciting, stimulating, and challenging all at the same time. Through this profession, I can teach others about parts of the world they may never get to see. I want to be a foreign correspondent, war correspondent, and make documentaries. Further, through my travels, I have been inspired for a life in activism, and I plan to join the Peace Corps’ Master’s International Program for a law degree in human rights activism. I also aspire to be a Fulbright Scholar. Being a journalist is who I am meant to be and to teach others with what I learn about the world is what I am meant to do. Through this, I want to make an impact on the world in terms of educating others and uncovering issues of important social, cultural, political and economical aspects.
