If I had the opportunity to earn a living doing what I love I would be a chess instructor. I love the sport and believe that it’s God’s greatest gift to us; chess dates back to medieval times, maybe even further. The majesty of this game knows no bound, and we often fail to comprehend it. In a chess game two individuals are considered equal. It’s a game where race, religion, wealth and age doesn’t matter. Often we prioritize people by traits such as mentioned. We believe this to be fair and equal, but fail to realize that we all have the same capacity to achieve great things. Chess helps us destroy that barrier created by a various things that surround us such as, political statues, race, religion, ethnicity and much more allowing us to realize we are all equals. When you step in front of your opponent all these things are extinguished, just two equal individuals on the same level. It’s amazing how one little game can do away with all the faults we find in one another in our society today. Scientists state that in each of our brains exist our own world. When two individuals play chess, it’s a clash of two worlds personified and carried out so majestically, which makes us ask why all conflicts and disputes can’t be settled in this manner? As a coach I would love to pass this great gift generations to come, so we can shape the world better than now.
