A ringing melody and sweet sound fills the air. A little girl runs around and looking to see where the sound is coming from. ” It’s not a radio.” she thinks to herself, “but what is it?” Around the corner she see a young man playing a saxophone. Who am I?
As an aspiring musician, I would gladly answer such questions. A face full with excitement and the satisfaction of a smile for my life work. Why some may ask? I love who I am and what I do. To be one of the great musicians of our time with the power to inspire others with my talent. To be the idol of a kid or teen who would look and say, “I wanna be like him.” To use music to bring tears to your eyes, a smile to your face or even heal your broken heart. That is what music means to me, the aspiring musician.
I want to impact the world in a positive way. As a young black male, I want to prove to others that success is within their grasp. How? If success was easy, everyone would be doing it right? I want to show them the results of hard work. I want to make use of my potential and shape it to meet my dreams. I want to push myself beyond failure because in being realistic, we know the on the other side of that is success. That is my dream.
