In order to earn a living in doing what I love most, I would be a Marine Biologist and Conservation Specialist. I dream of a world where I can go to the ocean and see a plethora of wonderful creatures and vegetation. The focus of my study would be striving to find a balance between sustaining human life and protecting the lives and habitats of other species. I believe that we as human beings have the responsibility to maintain the safety and security of all species on this planet, not just our own.
I am committed to finding a solution to the current issue of man-made waste in our oceans. Ninety percent of the waste in our oceans are plastics. To date there is an estimated ten thousand lost shipping containers floating along the currents. Waste in the ocean does not just affect the wildlife, but humans as well because it can cause serious injuries to people and damage equipment. This waste kills thousands of animals per year through ingestion and suffocation. I am eager to help eradicate this catastrophe. Our oceans fuel all life on this planet and I know that without it, we have no chance of survival. It would be an honor to contribute to the conservation of our oceans’ natural beauty for future generations to cherish as I do.
