I have worked in the nursing field for my whole working career. I was sixteen when I received my first job as a unit technician in a local nursing home. At first, I was skeptical of how long I would last but as time moved on, I started to enjoy the job immensely. There was such a sense of accomplishment and sheer joy of helping those around me.
I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant and now I am a Licensed Practical Nurse. I have been a nurse for 11 years. I have come to realize that this is my dream job. It’s hard and sometime thankless but you can truly see gratitude in your patient’s eyes when you help them. I love working with people and helping them achieve their health goals. This profession is so dynamic and growing that I am realizing in order to continue taking care of people, I need to advance my education.
My ultimate goal is to graduate with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. This will help me expand on my career in nursing and open so many doors for me. I can also help change the world by taking on new positions that wouldn’t be available to me as an LPN such as manager for a non-profit or going on foreign medical mission trips. I will also be able to work in a hospital and help those at their most vulnerable. Thank you for your consideration and help in pursuing my dream.
