If I could earn a living doing what I love doing most it would be to become a successful Athletic Trainer. Playing on a basketball team for eight years and seeing erratic injuries on and off the court influenced me to want to help athletes. As an Athlete dealing with injuries, at any time the next injury you have can be your last time being active with that sport. However, with the right trainer you can have a second chance doing what you love most. I want to be able to help people have a second chance with sports even when they injury are serious.
I have set many goals to make my career possible. I’ve already made phones calls to the University I will be attending this fall for internship opportunities. While taking classes toward my major at The University Of Kansas such as, biology and Kinesiology I will maintain a 3.0 so I can enroll in the school of education in the spring. After enrolling in the school of education I will be admitted into the Athletic Training program where I will be working hands on with athletes while I’m still in school. The internships on campus are long term, With that being said I will take the job serious and I apply everything I learned in the class room on the job as well. Once I graduate from The University Kansas I will immediately start my career with the help of my internship. The internship will open many doors for me after college. With the experience of already working with athletes I will further my experience by starting my own athletic training agency called “Better than yesterday, Even better tomorrow Athletic Center”. I will use my references from my internship to help me start off. I will reach back out to the athletes I worked with in college and graduated with. Furthermore I will use them as sources or endorsements to help my business grow. I will be able to help more people have a second chance at what they love doing.
Sincerely, Miriah Jones
