At age 13 I was getting ready to start high school. Just like any other kid I was full of excitement blended with nervousness for this next chapter of my life. Unlike every other kid, however, I was bald, pale and weak. I was in the middle of chemotherapy treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Fast forward a year and a half I am now 15 years old. Been in remission once, got diagnosed again, and in remission a second time. Along the way I enjoyed watching many movies and became interested in the behind the scenes aspect. If I wasn’t watching a movie I was watching the special feature on how it was made. My parents saw this interest and decided to get me a video camera. Being a 15 year old kid who has gone through so much in life and hasn’t even finished high school yet, I saw things differently than most people my age. That has influenced the way I shoot now. I am currently a Junior studying film and I’m passionate about cinematography. This passion grew from the first camera, my first paint brush. I look at the world around me through this lens and make things interesting so people can see what I see. That is what I hope to do in the future, give people the chance to have a unique look at things. I’ve been in remission since 2008 and I only plan on doing great things from here on out.
