If I could earn a living doing what I love most I would be a full time professional birth and social justice advocate. I would advocate for families who are being mistreated during their pregnancy and birth. I would work to end bans on mandatory cesarean surgery. I would work to make sure that every person has access to perinatal care well maintain their autonomy. I would become the Swiss army knife of advocates with skills in grant writing, community organizing, and a JD for good measure. I would build these skills buy tailoring my college classes and continuing education for this goal –all while building up the right contacts with my genius elevator speech. I will ensure that I graduate collage without debt. So when I have the right credentials I can use them to help causes I believe in because lawyers who work for non-profits never make as much as lawyers who work for corporations. While there are many amazing professionals who advocate for birthing women, there is still a shortage. I would be one more helping fill that need. I will succeed in this because my heart is in it and because I truly believe the saying, “every birth has worth.”
