I plan to be an economist, or work in high finance. I have no qualms about admitting my admiration for all things costly and unnecessary. At 18, I was living in the world’s tallest building in Dubai. My uncle was the CFO of a large facility management company, and I was staying there for a semester abroad. In my short year there, I saw the development of a 100 million dollar company right before my eyes.
Although the company collapsed due to the massive real estate bubble bursting, I still got to see how a company is formed. I aspire to be the guy who makes it possible to turn a dream into a company. I know what I want to do, which is a rare trait for somebody my age.
Although I my desires are completely selfish and undeserving of a scholarship, my ultimate goal is benevolent and outweighs my shallow motivations. Specifically I would like to be the owner of a multi-billion dollar mutual fund. With my profits I would create the largest lobby for the betterment of America. I would target special interest groups that influence our politicians; an anti-lobby lobby. My goal would be to effectively end the nepotism and rampant corruption that plagues our government. I’m shocked and disgusted by the lack of moral liability our leaders can not be accounted for. I will do everything in my power to end this, and I will be doing this while wearing my custom fitted Brioni suit.
