My passion is to help those who hurt. This seems cliche, however in the realm of Psychology, we are literally being trained to help those with disorders and illnesses learn to cope so that they can live normal, happy lives. As a child I was in the foster care system for two years before my amazing parents adopted me. My family is the inspiration and driving force behind why I want to help individuals who have had to face traumas in their past and present. I know compassion and a helping hand go a long way in helping someone to recuperate from hardship, because I lived it.
I aspire to achieve a doctorate and become a Clinical Psychologist. In this position I will have the ability and the training to actually be able to make a real difference in the lives of people who just need someone to hear their stories. To listen and care and truly want to help in any way possible. How will my passion change the world? How could it not?! Every life that I am able to touch, using the expertise I am being given, will have an impact on the worlds which we don’t see. Every single person lives in a world that is completely different than our own; we all have family and friends that are impacted by our lives. By helping even just one person, the world will be changed. My passion is to help as many as I can.
