The ultimate dream job for me would be to work from home and teach online courses in business technology. You would probably say there is no way this would impact the world, much less, change it. However, one person at a time is how Mother Theresa changed the world with her simple acts of kindness. As each person learns to manipulate software to create databases and spreadsheets, they are able to live independently of welfare and public assistance as jobs are obtained. Companies can be developed where additional jobs are created and the process duplicates over and over. My first goal in the steps to this dream is receiving my undergraduate degree. Afterwards, I plan to teach through a local community college and then work on my master’s degree. Later, through Mississippi State University, I hope to join the online faculty currently teaching courses in business technology and increase the enrollment in the program. Mississippi State currently has many agreements with international higher educational institutions in areas of food and agriculture. It would be great to add business technology teaching to agreements in under-represented countries such as Africa and Indonesia. Even further, if funds were generated to develop remote sites in these nations where individuals have no access to a university, the ability for the extremely poor to acquire training would greatly increase. With technology today, our ability to share information is boundless. My ultimate goal is to share what I know and love. This would be my dream job.
