I want to earn a living as an Early Childhood Teacher. I want to teach children the basic lessons such as learning to write their letters and counting. I also want to teach them the more valuable life lessons of respect for others; chasing your dreams, and doing the best you can in life everyday. I am going into my sixth year at the University of Akron in Ohio. It has taken me a little longer then most graduates to find what in life will truly make me happy. After a lot of thinking, I decided that was going into education. I want to be one of the teachers that is respected and looked up to by her students, colleagues, and my family. I think teaching is the most rewarding profession. As teachers the hours are very long and there is a lot of planning behind the lessons. I am prepared to work hard to help my students to succeed. I want teachers to get the respect they deserve. If I could do anything to change the world it would be to change some people’s view of teaching as a profession. After all where would you be without the kindergarten teacher that taught you how to read and write? Even if I can’t change people’s mind, I want to have a positive influence on all of the students that come through my future classroom.
