If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be in nursing specializing in oncology! I am a non-traditional student, a returning adult student whose priority was raising my children and now that that is done I can focus on my dream! I have always wanted to be a nurse and I am currently a CNA working full time in an assisted living facility and will be finishing my pre-requisites for the LPN program here in Idaho Falls at Eastern Idaho Technical College in the Spring of 2015. It is a requirement here for the RN program and my long term goal is to get my BSN I want to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients by providing the best care possible during their treatment and be a contributor in finding a cure! I have lost family and friends to all types of cancers and want to be a reason why patients can say they are survivors! It is a dream of mine to make a difference in the world of cancer treatment, research and finding a cure! My mother was an LPN and she instilled in me the importance of helping others and making a difference in their everyday lives just by caring and being the best person you can be. My contributions in the world of cancer treatment would be to change the lives of patients by instilling hope for survival and a cure into their care plans, not just treatment.
