Music binds humanity together. Music speaks when we are silent; comforts the lonely, nourishes the hungry, stabilizes the weak. All humans, regardless of race, culture, or language, can FEEL music.
Children are the masters of music: why need we “teach” it to them? Children, barely out of the womb, jump and sway to music. Soon they become songwriters, singing about little everyday things before they learn to be silent: before they learn self-consciousness, before we ruin them. I am an aspiring music “teacher” (I use that word lightly) . . . but what I will be doing is encouraging the children; fostering their natural love for movement and common emotion. Music is a way of communication, and I will raise communicators. My students will learn to be leaders, communicators, yes, and lovers of humanity.
This is my dream.
