I am working toward is a Bachelor of Arts in Art with emphasis in photography and a Minor in Communications. My dream job would be running my own photography studio. My favorite part of photography is giving people their pictures, and seeing the look on their faces when they see the photos for the first time. I know that, if I have done the job right, those photographs could be displayed in that person’s home for many years. The career I intend to have is one that will hopefully bring joy to my customers. My hope is that the photo shoot experience will boost the customers’ self-esteem by making them feel like the only person who matters, and by providing the customers with photographs that make them feel attractive and important. There are enough things in the world that make people feel bad about themselves; I want to combat this problem. I use lighting, setting, and props to make the subjects comfortable enough to open up and let the camera capture their personality and true beauty. After I upload the images, I do not alter the subjects’ physical appearance in any way other than touching up skin blemishes and flyaway hairs. Unlike most magazines, I do not believe that Photoshop plastic surgery is necessary to make a person beautiful.
