What I love most is to share beauty with those around me. Thus far in my life I’ve done so through sharing the works of others; be they music, art, or film. But I want more. I want to create beauty of my own, and I want to do so through the lens of a video camera. I want to tell my stories to as many people as I can by putting them on movie screens across the nation. I believe in the power of stories to change the world. A story can provide insights into the lives of others, teach us of human nature, and challenge the way we see and experience our world. To accomplish my dream I’ll enroll in community college and study film to get a good understanding of the technical aspects of movie-making. Concurrently I’ll work on small film projects and script-writing to refine my craft. The next step would be to transfer to a film school, build up contacts, and get the endorsement I need to make a feature film. The road may be long and far from certain, but I believe in my ability to adapt and keep my end goals in sight. As Paul Coelho once said, “The ends do not justify the means. Because there are no ends, there are only means.”
