If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would definitely be by helping kids. One thing that really bothers me is the thought of what some foster kids have to endure in their lives. First, they’ve been through some kind of trauma to end up in the foster care system, and then some of them wind up being abused within the foster home(s). If I can get to a point where I am able to oversee at least some of these kids and make sure that they are placed in loving homes while they wait for their parents to get their lives back on track and reunite, then I will feel like my life is a success.
This may not change the whole world, but if I am able to change one child’s world, that will be amazing. By changing the life of one child, the effects will trickle down to the people they touch in their lives – to their own children – and on down the line.
The goals I have set to make this dream a reality are by making the decision to go back to school, by entering college, by getting good grades in order to transfer to a good university, by taking the necessary classes to complete a degree that will allow me to work as a Marriage and Family Therapist or School Psychologist that will bring me around the kids that need my help. I’m working hard to make it happen.
