What I want to do most, out of anything in this world, is design games.

Since I was a child, I’ve loved playing video games. my most fond memories of childhood are of my father and I playing various games together. Sadly, my father was imprisoned around the time I was in 2nd Grade, up until a few years ago. While he was away, I remembered the games we would play, and my love of games, my love of building, and my love of my father combined near my first year of High School, and I decided then that I would create games.

I’m not so great that I can set a lofty goal like “changing the world”, but I think that games are a powerful medium. Now that my father is released, it’s a little awkward whenever I visit him. But whenever we start a game together, not just he and I, but us as a family, the tension and awkwardness is gone. Games have the power to instill strong memories in people, and to bring people together.

If I could earn a living, no, even if I can’t earn a living doing so, I will become a game designer, and I will do all I can to create games that bring people together. But in order to do this, I need to be able to both program, and to be able to better flesh out my ideas. Which is why I need a higher education.
