This Is Where I Should Be…

My career objective is to become a Medical Examiner for police services: by assisting the local law enforcement in solving cases and bringing suspected individuals to justice. I feel this position is a career that I’m destined to fulfill. As a Medical Examiner, I would be able to assist law enforcement and the justice system (Prosecutor’s office) in cases that need a proper determination or cause of death pertaining to deceased individual.
One of the first steps that I’ve taken to achieve this career path was matriculating directly in to college, immediately after high school graduation. As an undergraduate student, I maintained my career focus by enrolling in Criminal Justice and Medical Science courses. I extended my curiosity in this career field, by participating in 2 internships opportunities with a private crime lab and the local Sheriff’s Office. This experience took me beyond the classroom, to actually working alongside with active Deputy Officers of law enforcement, by drafting medical cases as by the Medical Examiner. I became fascinated with how the 2 entities (Law enforcement and medical science) worked together.
I’m currently involved with several MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) study groups, and working one on one with my college advisors, so that I become a more competitive applicant for medical school in the future. I have the motivation and endurance to achieve my goal of obtaining my future career.
