In today’s economy it is important to get a college education. When single parents, as myself decide to make a commitment to get through college, you have to be determined to get through, to make the sacrifice, and keep your eye on the prize. The important part is to remain focused and never give up your hope and dreams. I am currently pursuing what I wished I would have pursued twenty years ago, therapeutic horse riding working with riders of various disabilities. I am currently an instructor in training at a therapeutic riding facility working under a master instructor pursuing my instructor certification working towards that goal.
I want to reach out to riders with various disabilities and challenges: a child with ADHD, a teenager with trauma or a wounded veteran coming back from the war. The effects of a human and a horse is undescribable and miraculous. Unfortunately there is not much pay involved in non- profit therapeutic horse riding, but this is why I am going to school specializing in rehabilitation studies with emphasis on disabilities and mental health. It is a true calling to help people live life to the fullest and accomplish their dreams and hopes as I am doing right now.
