In the summer of 2012, on an extremely boring day, I was scrolling through my onDemand and stumbled on an interesting show that starred Jeff Daniels. I can picture the first scene where Daniels’s character, Will McAvoy, is at a debate and someone asks him “Why is America the best country in the world?” Shockingly he goes into a rant listing statistic to prove that America isn’t the best country in the world, but goes on to talk about how America was once the best. His reasoning was that the former America was informed on issues which led to them achieving great feats. I want to change the world to what both McAvoy and myself believe is great; however, to be great means to be informed society and make good decisions. That is why my goal is to be a television producer and produce a news show that informs the public with true and accurate information that is understandable, balanced, and will lead to a more informed America. Before I can be a world changing news producer, there are many necessary steps to take. The first and most important is graduating from UGA’s Grady College with my ABJ in Mass Media Arts. Next, I plan on becoming an associate producer at CNN Headquarters in Atlanta and help produce one of there shows currently airing. The last step will be to produce my own show, aimed at focusing on important issues in America and reporting accurately to the public.
