Everyone listens to music, it is so common that in the movie “It’s Kind of a Funny Story”, one of the characters compares it to breathing. Listening to music daily does not make you unique, but listening to music is what I love most. I know that in this day and age, you can not get paid listening to music, but who says tomorrow will be the same. Imagine a world where music companies paid you to listen to their music. I believe that music plays an important role in every child’s life. Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” We all are or were children at one point in our lives and I think it is important to keep all forms of art alive so why not make it accessible for everyone. In this day and age, we pay for music, but I think it should be the other way around because music is therapeutic, life-altering, and just all-around amazing. I know it might be a pipe-dream, but I think music can definitely affect the world. It gives new perspective, and maybe if we learn about other people’s perspective we can not only understand them, but transform them and gain even more knowledge when we share our perspectives. In order for it to work, this world has to work as a community and not a business in order to turn this dream into reality.
