If I could earn a living doing what I love the most, it would be to become a Family and Children Social Worker. My interest of Social Work is in Foster Care & Adoption and Children Protection Services. My “passion” for helping people and the love I share for children is the main reason why I selected Social Work as my major in college. The mission of the social work profession is to by find resources and opportunities to meet the needs of their clients. My goal is to help children who have been neglected, abused and mistreated by ensuring their basic needs are met, place them in an environment where they can feel safe and make sure they receive adequate care. I want to help children succeed in education, as well as in life. Our children of today are the future of tomorrow. I believe that they should understand the value of education, building confidence and increasing self-esteem, and seeking leadership roles. As a social worker, you must also be able to understand your clients, show empathy, engage and communicate with your clients and help to enhance their well-being. I also want to impact the lives of my clients by showing them that your past should not determine your future. Advocating for the rights, equality and fairness of my clients and to make a difference in their lives is important to me as a social worker.
