Ever since my childhood, I always wondered why the term “The American Dream” existed, there was no Indian or African dream; just The American Dream. It was later in life when I discovered America is well-know and respected throughout the world for its opportunities and it bothered me that most of the other countries completely differed. If I could earn a living doing something that I love, it would be to become a world-wide Engineer if possible. I just hate to see unfair things happen to good people. Becoming a world wide engineer would enable me to give citizens in underdeveloped countries hope for their country. In other words I would work with all of my blood, sweat and tears to make every single underdeveloped like the US. I, for one, am African; born and raised in Cameroon. I remember seeing so many undeveloped areas and buildings around the place that just gave me a sorrowful feeling. I know today that that feeling is what destroyed people’s hope for their country thus forcing them towards the US. Everyone in the world can’t live in one country. As a powerful global engineer I would create better environments for the people and give them that little boost of hope that they need in order to make something of themselves. Doing so will change the world as we know it; decrease mortality rates, give hope people, create a healthier environment, help over-populated counties, and most importantly; change people’s lives for the better.
