Everyone has something they love to do, whether it helps them with stress, a hobby or a career choice. Mine happens to be helping people. If I could do anything in the world every day for the rest of my life and change the world, it would be to help people throughout my career in law enforcement.
Throughout my college career I plan to become a law enforcement officer. When you become an officer, you give an oath to protect and serve your community. You see many ages, ethnicities, and life choices whether good or bad. To me, an officer is someone you can call to help you in any situation. Someone who helps protect you, someone who kids look up to and trust, as well as someone who can help you ease the struggles of everyday life.
To become a law enforcement officer is to make the community a better and safer place to be in. That’s where changing the world starts. Starting in the community is the first small step in changing a community. Start with good decisions and good habits, and people begin to follow in your footsteps. It’s a domino effect. Influencing people to make good decisions and helping them follow through makes them want to influence the people around them to do better, too. When you change your mindset, people notice and in turn, want to be positive too. Remember, that one small step is all it takes.
